Workshops

We run a popular series of workshops each year; often these are a follow-up of an art demonstration. Subjects cover a wide spectrum of painting media and techniques.

Numbers are limited to 16 members (minimum attendance 6). If insufficient members apply for a workshop, non-members may attend.

Workshops are usually held in Salwayash Village Hall, just outside Bridport. They usually commence at 10.00 am and finish at 4.00 pm. On occasion, they may be held in a particular artist’s studio.

The cost per workshop is £30.00 for members. Non-members £60.00 or £50.00 if they join the Society. Participants usually need to take their own art materials; they will be advised in advance by the organiser.

Claire Nuttall, Life Drawing in her Tower Studio

Claire Nuttall has led Life Drawing sessions in her studio in St Michaels Estate since 2021, as well as various one-off sessions in other locations.

Claire would like to offer the BAS a life drawing workshop, and a step-by-step guide to Life Drawing, with a range of different methods and material suggestions.

Suitable for everyone, from an absolute beginner, who would like to know how and where to start, and to gain confidence to be able to attend other life drawing classes, through to experienced life drawing artists who would like to use this session to try a few different methods and make use of the Life Drawing opportunity.

Claire always likes to create a friendly and informal atmosphere, where questions and exploring ideas are very welcome.
